what Google won't doWhen you Google search your business, you will be surprised to see what  Google can do for you.  Google may reveal things like driving directions to your location.  They may also pull up related articles, websites and social media profiles about your firm.  But,  there are a few things, which Google – and other major search engines – won’t do for you, ever.  Let’s have a look at some of those things Google will not do.

5 Things Google Will Never Do for Your Business

Tell people why are you in business

A Google search will never be able to expose the full reason for which the website owner decided to go into business. You can cruise on over to the About Us section of a site and read a few words that might have been written by the owner, but it’ll lack the personal feel.  This is something, which you as a website owner need to express to the public through an interview or a press release.  However you put this information out, be sure you let your personality come through.

Identify your target audience

To define your target audience, you need to understand the characteristics and lifestyles that make up the individuals you want to see frequenting your online store.  Draw a simple stick figure ‘ideal customer’ and give it a name, gender and a list of their hobbies and interests.  Also include the number of children, divorced or married, employment and create your target audience from scratch.  By doing this, you will know how to display your message directly to Jackie, Bob, and James.  Appeal to their requirements and give them the advantages of doing business with you.

Tell people who you are

Many advertising men and marketers say that consumers do not care who you are or what you think. They think that customers are only interested in the products and its price!  You should always try to develop personal relationships with your potential clients. Your advertising and marketing efforts are going to provide both a reason to purchase and a description of the individual they are purchasing from.  It is always easier to do business with someone you have got a connection with.

Identify the value of your product or service

There is a distinct difference between a true value and a perceived value of a product/service. You, as well as your customer, will be focused on the dollar value mostly.  But doing this, your customers will fail to see the true value of your product/service.  It is up to you  to expose your value! Highlight the true value of your product/service in your advertising.  After all, that is the real reason people spend their hard-earned money.

Tell people why clients choose you

Clients give great importance to reviews or testimonials. But if you think Google is going to provide that review on your behalf, you are wrong! Google does a good job of placing reviews at the top of their search. If you leave it up to them for finding reviews, you might be displeased with the result. Create a review or testimonial page on your site or get your reviews on the third party review sites like Angie’s List, Yahoo Local etc. Stay focused on what people are saying about you and make sure you respond to them politely. Always remember one thing—in today’s world, more than ever, the customer is always right!
